The RWBlackbird may have hit the window by accident trying to get away, but
over the years I've seen this happen enough times in our yard that I
believe accipiters sometimes intentionally drive a bird into an obstacle in
order to make the prey easier to catch. I'm curious to hear if anyone
knows more about this subject.
Accipiters in the yard this week, 1 adult Cooper's Hawk, 1 imm. Sharpie,
and 1 adult Sharpie!
