Two years ago, and I believe last year, there was at least one nest of
Scissor-tail Flycatchers on a power line pylon near Culpepper.
I have seen no reports on them this year; maybe I just missed them. Has
anyone seen them? Have they returned? Or maybe no one has gone looking for
them.
I'd appreciate any information, since these may have been the first breeding
Scissor-Tails in Virginia and I have a fondness for them from some time I
spent in Oklahoma, where they are (I think) the state bird.
I'd also appreciate directions to the nest power pylon, if anyone has them,
since I've lost mine. I think I can find the spot again but accurate
directions would be a help.
Thanks!
