A Short-eared Owl, likely a female by plummage, was observed by scope and
binocs hunting over the saltmarsh near the public boat launch south of the
main road leading to the Village of Saxis in bright sunlight and light wind
for one-half hour around 2 P.M. Sunday. Two Northern Harriers, one male and
one female, were also seen hunting over the same general area at the same
