VA Birders,
Highlights of our NVBC bird walk at Huntley Meadows Park, Fairfax Co.,
this morning were: 2 Sora (but no VA or Black Rails or Am. Bittern), both
yellowlegs, Solitary & Spotted Sandpipers, 4 Wilson's Snipe, 3 Scarlet
Tanagers,
and 2 Savannah Sparrows. After the walk, Pat Blyer and I saw 2 Ruby-throated
Hummingbirds around the feeders at the Visitor Center.
After I got home, I had a gorgeous male Rose-breasted Grosbeak in my yard
in Arlington Co. He came to my birdbath, perched on the dripper, and drank
the drops of water dripping from it! I also had a male Yellow-rumped warbler
in the yard (I saw about 6 Butter Butts flying around here before our storm
last night).
