Ray Smith, and Ann and Fred Bogar saw twenty Rough-legged Hawks today, Sunday,
February 15, 2004, from 0930 to 1330, from the Greenway, around Leesburg 0n US
Route 15, and in the farmlands north and south of Lucketts, Virginia, including
Montresor Road.  In addition, we saw four Northern Harriers and six American
Kestrels.

Does the large population of Rough-legged Hawks inhibit the other raptors?  The
only other raptors we saw other than Kestrels and Harriers were two Red-tailed
Hawks on the Greenway just outside of Reston near Route 722.
