[va-bird] Roughed Grouse in Augusta Co

I set out this morning for the Lark Sparrow at Sue D'Anofrio's house but
the bird has apparently moved on; it wasn't seen at all today (as of 2:30).

I ended up at Reddish Knob in the evening and saw four ROUGHED GROUSE on
FS 85. The first flushed from the right side of the road and I only saw it
gliding, but figured it had to be the bird. A short ways down the road I
came upon two. The hen flew but the cock just walked across the road in
front of me in full display, the tail fanned out and black ruff almost as
big as a baseball. Pretty neat! I shot a few photos through the windshield
but when I got out he flew.

Luckily, the fourth was as I was coming down from the top and it flushed
into VA, so Augusta Co gets the count.

A Rant of ~10 COMMON RAVENS flew up along Rt. 257 and ~8 BLACK-CAPPED
CHICKADEES were up there, too. I dallied until 8:30 but didn't hear any
Saw-Whets.

Good birding,
