Hello everyone,
There is a Ross's Goose on a drained pond in
Amherst Co. on Rt 29. If you are coming from the
north on 29 go past the construction at Sweet Briar
and the pond is on your left. If you are coming from
the south on 29 the pond is on your right just be-
fore you see the construction. Three people from
the Lynchburg Bird Club plus myself viewed the
goose through scopes. The goose had a short neck, stuby bill and a round head.
It did have a
faint grin patch and some blue at the base of the bill.
I hope some other people see the goose and
try to get pictures as this would be a first for
Lynchburg and vicinity.
