Today at lunchtime, Eric Calladine, Taylor Sprenkle, Joe Carpenter and I went
to Nokesville to look for the Ross's goose previously reported by Kurt Gaskill
and Candice Lowther. We quickly found the Ross's goose with 500+ Canada geese
in the pasture and adjacent fields on the north side of Parkgate Drive. We
watched the Ross's goose from about 12:30 until 12:45.
Yesterday, there were no geese in this field at approximately the same time,
and there were no geese in the fields along Colvin Lane, where the Ross's goose
has also been seen. The geese apparently move around quite a bit, so it's
worth driving all local roads to locate them if they aren't in the Parkgate
Drive fields.
