All,

Well it is nice to be able to join a local bird posting list! Got up early this morning hoping Earnesto Did some birding locally the morning and tried to find some shorebirds but didn't come up with much. Leonard's pond was basically filled to the brim leaving no mudflats but there was a solitary Solitary Sandpiper present working the edges. At lake Shenandoah I found 4 species of Raptors; Red-shoulder (immature), Accipiter, Northern Harrier, Osprey plus a lone Pied-billed Grebe. Blackburnian, Black and White, and American Redstart were spotted together flitting about in a berry tree of some sort (Mullberry?). Later I tried K's Pond where I met up with several local birders, however there were few birds around. We did see a single Solitary Sandpiper and a Green Heron in the afternoon and also a Coopers and 2 Red-tailed Hawks. Two ducks flew in and out and left unidentified.

Good birding!
