Below are links to updated pictures of the Baird's Sandpiper and American
Golden Plover taken today under better lighting conditions at Leonard's
Pond in Rockingham County.
The golden plover appeared at approximately 10:45 a.m. this morning,
discovered by Gordy Adamski as it flew in from back side of pond. Quite
possible it had been on back side of pond the entire morning, tucked up in
the grassy section or down behind a clump of mud.
Nice assortment of shorebirds today that included:
American Golden Plover (1)
Semipalmated Plover (1)
Lesser Yellowleg (1)
Least Sandpiper (2)
Baird's Sandpiper (1)
Solitary Sandpiper (1)
Spotted Sandpiper (1)
