I took my Ornithology class out for a quick birding expedition yesterday.
Though there wasn't much time we saw Eastern Kingbirds, 3 pairs of Blue-gray
Gnatcatchers with nests - one female (?) appeared to be feeding, Prairie
Warblers singing, Hooded Warbler, White-throated Sparrows (still here),
Turkey, and Ruffed Grouse.
Other birds seen in the area recently: Indigo Bunting at our bird feeder,
Horned Larks, Black-throated Green Warblers, Barred Owl, Worm-eating
Warbler, Louisiana Waterthrush, Red-shouldered Hawk, Solitary Vireo, and
Black-and-white Warbler
