My wife and I found 2 Barred Owls this evening at 7:30 up on the Roanoke
Mountain loop off of the Blue Ridge Parkway. The Owls were in a stand of pines
about 50 yards before the last overlook on the right going UP the mountain.
Overall , bird activity was slow but an unobstructed view of one of the Owls at
40 feet and head-high was a rare treat for the two of us.
