Greetings,
I made a brief stop this afternoon at the pond behind the Comfort Suites and
saw the four Red-necked Grebes, Redhead pair, one Canvasback, and two newly
arrived Greater Scaup. I had a nice look at the Gr. Scaup at rest, to study
the head shape. It was a treat to see the green sheen on their heads. A lone
Lesser Scaup was nearby for comparison. Mustn't forget the Ring-necked Ducks
and Hooded Mergansers.
A pair of Wood Ducks and a handful of Hoodies were at the Pageland Farm pond,
off of Rt. 29.
