Newer spring arrivals at Riverbend Park (Fairfax County) this Tuesday morning
included 2 Blue-grey Gnatcatchers, 2 LA Waterthrushes, 6 Palm (yellow race)
Warblers (among a host of Yellow-rumps), Rough-winged Swallows, and Chipping
Sparrows. The population of Ring-billed Ducks continue to diminish (down to
150
or so) and pairing of the remaining birds is more in evidence. VA bluebells
and other wildflowers are nearing their peak bloom.
