The Lincoln Sparrows remain at the Riverbend Park meadow (Fairfax Cty) in the
vicinity of the pond.
A beautiful plumaged male Hooded Warbler was along the line of trees on
Jeffery Rd. as were an additional 7 species of warblers--a Nashville, 2
Parulas, a
Chestnut-sided,
2 Magnolias, a Black-throated Green, 2 Palms, and many Common Yellowthroats.
The warbler activity here took place between 8 and 9 AM today. Usually this
stretch of trees is most active when the sun first hits the trees a little
after 7 AM.
A Brown Creeper, Scarlet Tanager, and several Phoebes, Pewees, and House
Wrens were among other migrants. The meadow's bumper crop of Indigo Buntings,
Yellowthroats, and Cardinals were very actively foraging this morning.
