VA Birders,
8 birders explored Riverbend Park during the NVBC walk this morning (May
28). Migration appears to be over, but we discovered a nice variety birds
anyway. Our walk began with a trip around the meadow. We then walked along
the
river for a while and then took the Upland Trail back to the parking lot. Of
the 50 species seen or heard, the highlights were a very noisy and brightly
colored Prothonotary Warbler near the Visitor's Center, a couple of Spotted
Sandpipers along the river, and a posing Wood Thrush on a log along the Upland
Trail. Here's the list:
