Fellow Birders,
After voting this morning, I headed over to Lake Fairfax Park to see what was
about. This place has been interesting in the past few months. It looks like
it may harbor some nice ducks this year, which is convenient for me since it is
essentially on the way to my office. I was only there for about 20 minutes but
I was able to see several good birds, including two PIED-BILLED GREBES swimming
among the higher grasses along the lakeshore, a late OSPREY assaulting a GB
HERON (minding its own business), and a group of 16 RING-NECKED DUCKS that
later whistled in, circling the lake several times before finally landing among
the 176 CANADA GEESE. A complete list follows.
Good Birding!
