We went looking for the Upland Sanpipers and Dickcissels today. No luck in
Remington for the Uppies, but did have lots of Meadowlarks, Barn and Tree
Swallows and one immature Northern Harrier patrolling the fields.
Had better luck in Culpeper county with the Dickcissels. We had 2 and
possibly a third in the field right along RT 15. In the nearby marshy area
had Willow Flycatcher, Green and Great Blue Heron, Common Yellowthroats,
Catbirds with young and Indigo Buntings.
And in addition to birds was a great day for butterflys, we could have spent
the day just watching them.
