[va-bird] Red-breasted Grebe

Birders,

This morning, we observed the following Birds:

LAKE ORANGE: Red-necked Grebe (1), Red-breasted Merganser (9), Ring- billed Gull (12), Killdeer (2).

AIRPORT (BLOOMSBURY ROAD):  VESPER SPARROW (1),

YARD: BROWN THRASHER (1), Tree Swallow, Purple Finch (50+), E. Phoebe (2), Eastern Bluebird (nesting), C. Chickadee (nesting-2 boxes), Winter Wren (1), Wood Duck (1), Mallard (2), Field Sparrow (2), Chipping Sparrow (1) Song Sparrow (3), White-throated Sparrow (4), N. Junco (40), N. Cardinal (4), A. Robin (16), Tufted Titmouse (4), Hairy Woodpecker (2), N. Flicker (1), Downy Woodpecker (2), Red- bellied Woodpecker (2), Cedar Waxwing (11), Golden-crowned Kinglet (3), Red-shouldered Hawk (2), Red-tailed Hawk (2).

Swallow-tailed Butterfly (2) - first of the year.


Yesterday on Goldmine Road at the bridge and wetland, Louisa County: Wilson's Snipe (50), Wild Turkey (1) , Swamp Sparrow (4).
