Jon Little and I observed the Red-necked Grebe from the Burke Lake Marina just
off the point of land to the left a few hundred feet at about 12:45 PM. We
then went to Mason Neck State Park and spotted the Brant just off shore from
the Visitor's Center in a raft of several hundred Ruddy Ducks, before we even
put our bins up.
