[va-bird] Razorbill at Kiptopeke State Park

A RAZORBILL was watched for about ten minutes on Sunday afternoon from the pier
which extends from the parking lot at the boat launch ramp at Kiptopeke State
Park. The bird was originally discovered by Kathy from Alexandria and her
birthday birding party. Nice birthday present! It swam out from the base of
the pier, and gradually through a series of dives moved out of view in the
direction of Wise Point. There was a nice group of loons, grebes, and diving
ducks also seen from the pier. A pair of close-up Red-throated Loons was
calling from the water each time they emerged from a dive. Several Horned
Grebes were seen flying past the concrete ships.
