They were at the refuge.
I got there just as Larry, Laura and company were leaving and they told me
about them. I stayed in the parking lot watching the distant Rough Legged and
after about a half hour, drove out of the refuge via the one way wild life
drive.
At about 2/3 of the way along the drive one Raven flew directly over the car.
The wedge shapped tail was obvious. It also seemed to have slightly two
toned wings when seen from below, ala a Turkey Vulture (dark in front, lighter
in back) although the contrast was much less dramatic. I'm not sure if this is
a "real" field mark or just a lighting effect (the bird was very well lit
from below due to the light reflecting off the snow). Sibley shows this effect
in his guide, but he also show it for Crows.
Did anyone notice this?
I also had a Tree Sparrow on the way out.

Were they at the Refuge or near the town?
