Ned Brinkley emphasizes a good point. I have also had Va Rails
respond to King Rail tapes. Without other calls or a sighting,
these birds will have to go down as rail sp. I will not be able
to return to the marsh until mid-week next week. If anybody has
the time and energy, it would be worth checking this area late
night in an attempt to at least get the birds calling for specific
ID. This is a great looking marsh area and could easily yield other
good finds (Least Bittern, Marsh Wren, etc).
