I took up Kurt Gaskill's challenge and found a couple spots on the south =
side of Quantico Creek Bay with access to the water. Go south on Rte. 1 =
from Possum Point Rd about a mile and make a left on Graham Park Rd. (it =
is well marked). Go about a mile to a stop sign and bear/turn right on =
Cabin Rd. A left on Candice Dr. goes to the water, and a little farther =
down Cabin a left on Running Pine Court also goes to the water. On =
Running Pine there is a waterfront building lot for sale. I talked to =
the owner/agent for quite awhile and he has no problem with birders =
using the lot. (Until someone starts building there, presumably). If =
anyone wanted to live in Dumfries this would be a good place. The lot =
has riparian rights and he said you could build a 300 foot dock or put =
two blinds there.
Sorry I didn't think to measure mileage but no leg is more than about a =
mile so you can't go too far wrong. Hope this helps.
