VA Birders,
This morning, John Belz and I saw 3 PURPLE FINCHES (1 male & 2 females)
at the Bird Stream at Fort C.F. Smith Park here in Arlington. Other visitors
to the stream today included 2 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS and CHIPPING and
WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, in addition to the usual suspects. A PALM WARBLER was
also
in the area. John Fox joined me a little later, and we saw a BLUE-HEADED VIREO
and a HERMIT THRUSH on a walk around the park. Late this afternoon, Joanna
Taylor stopped by the park to look for the finches, but didn't find them.
However, she found an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER there.
Good birding,
Val Kitchens
