A lot of people could live and learn from what you just did. Claudia Wilds
once told me that when she stopped making mistakes in the field it would be
time
for her to stop birding. She thought that finding a bird, misidentifying it
and then working out its ID with a field guide was one of the more fun things
to do in life. Where else could self-education be more satisfying?
