On Sunday afternoon a flock of about 20 Pine Siskins were seen in the
conifers around the staff parking lot at the Blandy Experimental Farm in
Clarke County, VA. Perhaps as many as 5 Red-breasted Nuthatches were also
in the same area. A couple dozen White-crowned Sparrows were in the Meadow
at Blandy on Sunday. Earlier in the week, three American Tree Sparrows
were seen in the Meadow, and a Fox Sparrow was seen in the woodland section
of the Native Plant Trail.
