[va-bird] Pine Siskin, Cliff Swallow in local patch (western Loudoun Co)

Had a PINE SISKIN at my feeder today - by far the latest I've had one in the
spring. If she hangs around until tomorrow she can go on my May list.
While walking in my neighborhood in the light rain this morning had the
opportunity to watch well over a hundred swallows flying over the fields and
ponds. While most of them , easily 90%, were Barn Swallows, there were others
as well. The nicest as it was a new one for my neighborhood list were CLIFF
SWALLOWS - watching them fly back & forth and sit on the electric lines allowed
several comparisons between them & the others around.

There was also a drake & female BLUE-WINGED TEAL as well as my first of the
year neighborhood sighting of a YELLOW WARBLER. Great views of the
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW perched on a paddock fence singing territory (been back and
singing for a couple of days but was able to get w/in about 10 yards of it this
morning. And now there are two GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHERS regularly interacting
around the house.

Lots of Yellow-rumps in the yard as well as a Cooper's and a rather noisy
Red-shouldered Hawk.

It's int'g how the birding is usually better during a light rain.
