Last year, Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory made a CD of color photos
of birds, butterflies and people over the first 10 years of the organization.
Thanks to many people who bought them, we were able to raise more than $1,000
for Observatory programs. We will continue to sell them this year as well.
A second CD, "Volume II," is now underway and will feature rare birds that
have been found around the mouth of Chesapeake Bay, inlcuding Back Bay, False
Cape, Craney Island and the surrounding areas and the Eastern Shore. I have
already received many fine images, but I am searching for people who want to
donate others. The birds that I would like to add include:
Pacific Loon
Clark's and Western Grebe
pelagics seen from shore
eiders
Harlequin Duck
Ferruginous Hawk (the one at the Eastern Shore Refuge)
Sandhill Crane
Avocet and Black-necked Stilt
Black-tailed, Iceland and Glaucous Gulls
Say's Phoebe
Scissor-tailed Flycatcher
Fork-tailed Flycatcher
Ash-throated Flycatcher
Olive-sided flycatcher
Cave Swallow
Rock Wren
Yellow-headed Blackbird
Harris' Sparrow
Lark Sparrow
Eurasian Collared Dove
Rufous Hummingbird
Snow Bunting
White-faced Ibis
Please contact me directly if you are able to help by sending digital images.
Thanks,
Brian Taber
