All,
Gerry Weinberger and I spent a delightful morning walking the trail from
the Curtis Parking lot at Phelps WMA in Fauquier County this morning.
The weather was superb and we both got a couple year birds. Best birds
were 4-5 BLACK AND WHITE WARBLERS, 3 YELLOW PALM WARBLERS, 2 LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSHES (one in Fauquier and one in Culpeper across the river), 1
NORTHERN PARULA, multiple BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, 2 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS and
two PIED-BILLED GREBES. The Curtis parking area is on Roger's Ford Road
about a mile from Sumerduck Road in southern Fauquier County.
