I was treated to some excellent views of Red-necked Phalaropes at Blandy
farm where they were putting on quite show of synchronized swimming. They were
extremely tame and showed no fear of birders standing within 10 feet of them.
An excellent opportunity for some photos. Most birds were in breeding plumage.
For directions see Dave Car's original post. Basically Blandy is ~ 10 East of
Winchester on Route 50 or just a mile or two West of the Shenandoah river on
Route 50. Bear to the East or left and follow the gravel road after arriving
at Blandy.
