After seeing the report of northbound neotropical migrants in yesterday's
posts, I sent it to my son who was just finishing a 6-week visit to Costa Rica.
His reply follows:
"i can ditto that, minus the magnolia, plus a surprising number of
golden-winged, some blackburnians, and one ovenbird. and take their wood
thrush and
multiply it by three every day, plus the occasional swainson's for variety.
(not
to mention all the summer tanagers...)"
In his defense, he does know to capitalize the official names of birds, but
was using an internet cafe terminal and probably trying to save online time and
money. He ticked 362 species, but I don't yet know how many were lifers.
Bottom line--They're coming! Good birding to all.
