An Osprey appeared over the ponds this evening, to get in a little fishing
during migration, but was hounded so mercilessly by 8 male Red-winged
Blackbirds, that he perched in a tall poplar away from the pond, and is still
sitting there waiting for his chance.
The male Bobolink continued today to chase the female, spouting his unique song
all the while.
Blackpoll warblers are still coming down our ridge in decent numbers; I have
counted a handful every day for the last 2 weeks.
