Today George Harris and I drove around Orange County looking for Bobolinks
and found none. However, we did find lots of Grasshopper Sparrows, a Blue
Grosbeak (it looked like a singing female, do females sing? She was singing
her head off!), Warbling Vireo, and Willow Flycatchers. The location for the
Warbling Vireo and Willow Flycatcher: Route 627 (Clark Mtn. Rd) at bridge
near junction of Route 636 (River Road). They were in a Sycamore tree that
has a Baltimore Oriole nest in it.
At Lake of the Woods this morning there was a female Red-breasted Merganser,
and yesterday at LOW I saw a Coot. They seem a bit out of season.
Good birding,
Phil
