I just came back from an exciting walk in Olde Izaak Walton Park in Leesburg.
The highlight of my lunch walk was a male Blue-winged Teal!!! The bird was
feeding in the stream adjacent to the educational building in the Park. For
several minutes I observed the bird at 20-30ft distances. It was nervous and
tired to find some cover.
Other birds of interest were female Northern Shoveler in the pond, Winter Wren
behind the educational building and a Yellow-rumped Warbler.
