I walked Occoquan NWR for an hour and a half until sunset. I didn't see the
swans or the diversity of ducks that Marc did but the scaup were still on the
bay in large rafts. I saw most of the rest of his reported birds. There were
Bluebirds in the meadow to the left of the road before the parking lot, a
single Meadowlark and a Sharp-shinned Hawk perched in the top of a small tree
on the Wildlife Loop. I saw 5 Wild Turkeys, 4 White tailed deer, 3
Red-shouldered hawks, 2 Great Blue Herons and a possum under a pear tree.
