Took the parents up to Observatory Hill (in Charlottesvile, on the UVA
Campus). Beautiful weather, no clouds in the sky. Was there from
8:00-10:30. Warblers all over the place, mostly YELLOW-RUMPS (50+),
BLACK-THROATED BLUE (10+), CHESTNUT-SIDED (5+). At one point, had 4 male
SCARLET TANAGERS in two trees (had about 8+ total). Also got BALTIMORE
ORIOLE, PRARIE WARBLER, REDSTART, ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, RED-EYED
VIREO(10+), GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER(10+). Heard Wood Thrush, Ovenbird, and
Northern Parula. Good birding, --Rob Mocko
