Attention all teens interested in birding:
(Adults please pass this on to any interested
teens you know of.)

This coming Saturday (9/11) from 1 to 6 PM will
be our first field trip of this school year.  The
present plan is to go out to Loudoun County in
search of golden plovers, baird's sandpipers, and
buff-breasted sandpipers.  Please let me (Mr.
Atwood) know if you are interested in attending
this field trip as space in the minibus is
limited to 14 students (aged 13-18).
Destination plans may change if people express an
interest in going elsewhere, especially if
something very exciting shows up this week.  We
will leave from and return to Flint Hill School
near route 66 in Oakton.  Beginners and advanced
birders are welcome.  If you don't have
binoculars that's OK since Flint Hill School has
many extra ones that we can use.  We will also
have two spotting scopes so we should be able to
get great looks at whatever we find.

Directions to Flint Hill School
Take Route 66 to Exit 60.
Exit onto route 123 towards Oakton and Vienna
(not Fairfax).
Turn left at the second light (about 1/4 mile)
onto Jermantown Rd.
Go about 1 mile and turn right into the Flint
Hill campus just past Oak Marr Park.

Mr. Atwood's cell phone number is 703-242-1675.

Good Birding!
