Neighbor Lou Tanner and I drove over to Clair Mellinger's Northern Saw-whet
Owl banding station this past Saturday night.  We arrived by 7:30 p.m.,
joining quite a few other visitors.
It was a beautiful star-filled sky with temps well down into the
20's.  Good showing of these little owls, with 17 Saw-whets, including 4
recaptures, on three runs for the night.

Clair reports this is the best year with over 130 owls this season.

Here is link to few pics taken Saturday night.
