A Northern Phalarope (Red-necked Phalarope) was observed at Huntley Meadows
Park near the boardwalk this morning by Arlene Richman and Gene Keefe at 0815.
The bird was seen until 0915 by Park Staff, including Marianne Mooney, Kitty
Keller, and Anne Stat. The Red-necked Phalarope was not seen at noon today,
5/22/2003.
Huntley Meadows Park may be found by exiting the Beltway on US Route 1 at the
Fort Belvoir/Alexandria Exit towards Fort Belvoir. At Lockheed Boulevard,
3.5 miles to the south of the Beltway, turn right and at the intersection with
Harrison Lane, turn left and proceed to the Visitor's Center.
