Whilst amusing myself late this morning with the antics of a hunting
Red Fox, contentedly pouncing on the unsuspecting furry morsels
scurrying beneath the 5 inches of snow that DID NOT accumulate here
yesterday
(they nailed it again...),
a large slate-backed raptor materialised out of the NE treeline of my
humble abode and presented me with absolutely crushing looks at an
adult NOGO.
The evil beast took a few casual passes at the thickets interspersed
with adult Sycamores lining the creek, scattering White-throateds,
Cardinals and Blue Jays, before taking a hard-left and humping it into
the thicker woods (the blood red eyes being the only thing left to the
imagination).
An unexpected and fine addition to the yard list...
