A two-hour ride around lower Northampton County (to Oyster, Seaview,
Eastville, and Birdsnest) produced the following birds, either on mudflats on a
falling afternoon tide (at Oyster) or in flooded farm fields (other sites):
American Oystercatcher 20/0/0/0
Willet 120/0/0/0
Ruddy Turnstone 2/0/0/0
Short-billed Dowitcher 400/0/0/0 (many hendersoni still
distinguishable)
Whimbrel 6/0/0/0
Marbled Godwit 5/0/0/0
Black-bellied Plover 110/0/0/10
Semipalmated Plover 1/1/1/0
Pectoral Sandpiper 0/0/0/50
Lesser Yellowlegs 0/8/7/135
Greater Yellowlegs 0/0/0/135
Killdeer 0/0/3/4
Gull-billed Tern 1/0/2/0
Glossy Ibis 10/1/120/200+
Other birds such as Forster's Terns, gulls, and a few Black Skimmers were
also around (probably 10,000+ Laughing Gulls between the various sites).
