All,
Yesterday Todd Day and I were able to refind two female Brewer's
Blackbirds in Northampton County that we found (with Bob Ake) on the
Cape Charles CBC. These birds are located in a farm field on the bay
side of the peninsula. To reach the spot go west on Capeville Road from
Rt. 13 and then turn left (south) on Arlington Road. About 3/4 mile
down on the right, there is a field of winter wheat and a plowed field
that are separated by a dirt/gravel driveway. The birds were seen on
the 27th and again on the 29th picking through the plowed field with
many Killdeer, Dunlin and a few Red-winged Blackbirds.
In the morning, at the ferry dock at Kiptopeke State Park there was a
first winter California Gull that we were unable to relocated about 1
hour after finding it.
