Beginning September 1, Jennifer Ottinger will conduct the hawkwatch at
Kiptopeke. She is a Colorado State zoology graduate, who has worked at Rocky
Mountain Bird Observatory, Boise Ridge Migration Project and Hawk Mountain. Now
she
will finally see some hawks!
Also beginning September 1, Eric Slayton will conduct the hawk banding
operation at Kiptopeke. He brings experience from the Southern Vermont Natural
History Museum, Vermont Institute of Natural Science, Tenafly Nature Center in
New
Jersey, Cayuga Nature Center in Ithaca, New York and he spent 7 seasons
banding at Cape May.
The Observatory is proud to have such experienced staff with us. Please come
visit and show them our warm Virginia welcome.
