This morning two Wood Ducks, a male & female, visited the wood lot we live in,
ostensibly to check out nesting cavities. Last year we watched them check out
cavities in the various trees on March 31, April 2 and April 12 (last year we
watched both of them actually go inside several dif. holes) but never confirmed
that they actually picked one. Maybe this year ...
I must admit it is it always a bit strange watching a pair of ducks perched (if
one can really call it that) on an Oak limb at least 50' above the ground.
