Initially saw 1 at 9:10 am (after a 15 minute wait) perched and then flying
right in front of the first viewing platform. Shortly after I had 2
simultaneously to the right, at about 2pm if one is facing towards the swamp.
One made repeated flights over to a dead tree, perched, and pulled strings of
moss (?) down, then flew a short distance away to the same spot. While the
bird was doing this another one was meandering around near-by but not
interacting. Both were some distance away from where the first Bittern
landed, raising the distinct possibility of at least 3, and perhaps 2 pair of
LE BIs.
