My after lunch walk around the neighborhood netted a Yellow-bellied
Sapsucker, and a pair of Pileateds being pursued by a robin. There were lots of
robins,
Blue Jays and Flickers, probably migrants. The young American Crows were
doing their leaf-soaking trick again -- putting dead leaves in the bird bath
and
then retrieving them. They do this for bread (having been taught by their
parents) but haven't learned yet that it doesn't work for everything.
