Yesterday, Leonard Teuber, Tom Mizell and I birded the forest road along Narrow
Back Mt. back of Bear Trap Farm for several miles. Five or six Prairie
Warblers and about as many Yellow-billed Cuckoos. A couple Chats and a flock
of Waxwings. Pair of Blue-gray Gnat Catchers (we were probably close to their
nest), several Great-crested Flycatchers and Pine Warblers and loads of Indigo
Buntings.
The RBC Whippoorwill trip back of Union Springs Dam Wednesday night yielded
about half dozen Whips with good looks at one or two. No luck with the Chuck
Wills Widow. Nine people on this trip.
