Hello Fellow Conservationist,

This announcement is to let you know about the upcoming invasive species
removal hosted by NVCT next Saturday, August 24, 2002.  NVCT needs your help to
stop the spread of invasive wisteria on a 34-acre easement property in Mason
Neck.  The beautiful property includes Environmental Quality Corridor land with
meadows and woods, and it lies adjacent to BLM Parkland. Please come out and
meet fellow nature enthusiasts and improve the environment while having a great
time.

The removal will occur from 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM at 10800 Harley Road (see
directions below).  Please bring tools that you dont mind sharing, such as
clippers, hack saws, small chainsaws, shovels, gloves, etc.  We suggest that
you wear comfortable clothes, tennis shoes or boots, and bug spray and
sunscreen.  Some refreshments will be provided, but you should also bring some
water.

DIRECTIONS TO THE EVENT:

From I-95 South

·       Take the Lorton Rd (642) exit, exit 163 and continue east on Lorton Rd
for approximately 1 mile until you reach Armistead Road.
·       Turn right onto Armistead Road on go .2 miles to Route 1/Richmond Hwy.
·       Take a right onto Route 1/Richmond Hwy. South and continue for
approximately 1 mile.
·       Make a left onto Gunston Road (242).  (Look for the brown Pohick Bay
Regional Park and Gunston Hall sign.)
·       Proceed 2.5 miles and make a right onto Harley Rd.
·       Proceed through the cul-de-sac onto the unpaved road.
·       The property is off of the second paved driveway on the right.  Follow
the driveway all of the way in.  You will pass houses on your left and right,
continue to the main house.

From I-95 North

·       Take the Route 1/Richmond HWY exit.
·       Continue north on Route 1 for approximately 1.5 miles.
·       Make a right onto Gunston Road (242).  (Look for the brown Pohick Bay
Regional Park and Gunston Hall sign.)
·       Proceed 2.5 miles and make a right onto Harley Rd.
·       Proceed through the cul-de-sac onto the unpaved road.
·       The property is off of the second paved driveway on the right.  Follow
