[va-bird] NVBC walk at Dyke Marsh, Fairfax Co.

VA-Birders,

Bob Klarquist and I, plus four other members of the Northern Virginia Bird Club, found the birding a bit slow at Dyke Marsh this morning, probably owing to the overcast and windy conditions. CASPIAN TERNS swept by often giving us nice views and a FORSTER'S preened on a piling at the marina for a nice comparison. We watched an OSPREY eat a bright orange carp and found a couple of BALTIMORE ORIOLES, as well as a couple of BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, at the dogleg. Just one warbler, a male COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, was seen.
